Project Description

Our team was tasked with performing a detailed maintenance service on a mini split system at a single-family residence. The homeowner had requested a tune-up for both the upstairs and downstairs units. The maintenance included checking electrical components, cleaning outdoor coils, and assessing refrigerant pressures. Upon arrival, we met with the homeowner, who preferred to discuss the details with her son due to a slight language barrier. We began with the upstairs unit, which was not level and showed signs of low refrigerant. Mold was also present on the fan blades and casing. The downstairs unit was in better condition, with normal refrigerant pressures and temperature splits, though mold was also found in the blower wheel and casing.

Summary of the Call

The maintenance service included a  tune-up for the mini split system, which comprised two outdoor units and two indoor units. Our team ensured that both units were thoroughly checked and cleaned, with particular attention to the refrigerant levels and mold presence. The homeowner was informed about the potential need for system rejuvenation and possible credits for system replacement if necessary.
